Your personal brand is a visual representation of who you are - not just what you do, for your audiences. It’s about establishing a vision for your work.

Reflecting your personal brand in your visual representations – fashion, photography, social media, and website – is essential.

Are people who traditionally need a personal brand. However, now everyone has a personal brand due to the use of social media in our professional, business, social and personal lives.

Social media has ushered in a digital age that prioritises visual content over anything else.

Your personal brand can set you apart from thousands of others in your industry offering similar services. If you offer a unique service, your personal branding is even more important to ensure the design of your fashion, photography and online presence reinforces your unique selling points.

Given the overabundance of images online and on social media, it’s even more important to feature high quality content that represents your values, authenticity and uniqueness. And create an emotional connection with your audiences. This can only be done through visuals. Even creative professionals can sometimes be a bit unadventurous when it comes to their own self-promotion on their websites, social media images and fashion. In contrast, most famous artists are masters of personal branding. Their lives and their work became one, their philosophies and personalities serving to accentuate the impact and mystique of their work.

Personal branding is about being memorable. It will help you expertly package your experience, skills, talents and personality, to successfully communicate with impact, influence, and to powerfully navigate your path.

In striving to reflect authenticity and truth in your personal brand, you’ll never regret your visual design communications (even as trends come and go), as they reflect the core of who you are, and what you love, which never changes.

How does Marika Page process of Personal Branding differ from others?

Most companies offering Personal Branding services design your logo, font type, and help you identify your unique selling point (USP). Whereas my unique process of Creative Direction for your personal brand uses visuals, rather than text alone, to capture who you are, in order to make an emotional connection with your audience. Your audience, will connect with who you are, not just what you do. My unique Creative Direction process strives to give a more holistic representation of the person. Distinguishing you from ‘competitors’, and efficiently connecting you with like-minded future collaborators (to aid in expansion / crossing over to other platforms), aligned brands, and individuals in your work and personal life. Thereby increasing your potential for higher income, joy, and fulfilment from genuine connections. The current offering for personal branding services online is very corporate-looking. Whereas my process produces more fashion editorial-style results.

I’ll translate your skills, values, experiences, and passions into concepts, creating a visual design strategy consisting of a mood baord and mind map. The result will be a coherent ‘look and feel’ which will form part of your visual identity, and acts as a reference you can use to achieve consistency in your communication through your website and social media channels.

Why is Creative Direction necessary to build your Personal Brand?

My Creative Direction service is a process by which we unlock the elements of your personality visually. We’ll create a set of visual references to set the tone for your work, using words and pictures. I tailor the visual references to compliment your natural looks. Your fashion choices will reflect who you are on the inside, as well as compliment and enhance your physical appearance.

Adding depth to the concept and story you are trying to project will create a memorable, iconic image that stands out from the rest. This depth is achieved through my Creative Direction service. (Click links find out more).

How does a Creative Director help you reach your target, and wider, audiences?

A Creative Director’s portfolio and website will showcase their most remarkable work and give you a visual depiction of who they are as a creative professional, depth of vision, and clarity in which this vision is conveyed. As well as showcasing their talent for creating exciting visuals! Choosing a Creative Director whose work you admire will further your own vision, as they are able to translate vague ideas into concepts which form a coherent design strategy. Powerfully communicating your vision in this way will help you attract future collaborators who will in turn help you reach your target audience. As well as gain access to a wider audience, such as the fashion and design world. Collaboration breeds evolution, a vital ingredient in fruitful careers, a wider audience and higher income.

Qualifications

Normally a Creative Director will have worked in their field of expertise for more than 10 years - for instance, fashion - and collaborated with major artists. But will use a multi-disciplinary approach, usually posessing a general knowledge of the arts (such as photography, music, film or literature), and normally a Masters degree in one of these areas. To illustrate, my diverse background includes a Masters in Arts (Professional Writing & Literature), a 10+ year career as a stylist, and training in Creative Direction and Personal Branding from Central Saint Martins. I am also a shoot producer, having produced many photo shoots for fashion magazines and also offer a Photo Shoot service, connecting you with photographers, hair and make-up artists, as well as Personal Styling. My company is one location for Creative Direction, Personal Branding, Personal Styling and Photo Shoot production.

Why do you need a Creative Director for your Personal Brand?

  • You are an artist or creative professional and feel your artistic vision is lacking in visual appeal. For instance, do you feel you have not yet nailed your photo and / or production shoots, or outfit creations? Creative Directors are often one key stepping stone for the success of an artist. In today’s world, with it’s strong focus on visual storytelling, a coherent creative message is more important than ever. For instance, YouTube and Instagram are some of the most important places to discover artists. Odds of recollection increase when something activates multiple senses, one reason why standout visuals often play a part in a promising artist becoming an artist with an audience. Online channels are saturated with images, strengthening people’s tastes, causing us to consistently demand new work from artists, which in turn pushes them to work harder to create something meaningful. If you’re not evolving, you’re dying. Artists aren’t just performers anymore, they are influencers who are truly shifting culture.

  • You are the face of your business but don’t feel your current visuals represent who you are, how you think or feel, or the message you're wanting to communicate.

  • Your visuals and marketing don’t represent a heightened sense of yourself, or leave your audience with a heightened sense of themselves.

  • You feel your current visual and marketing communications are generic, cliched, or too corporate, and you desire to stand out from the rest, but not sure how to go about it whilst retaining authenticity.

  • You would like a fashion-forward look but do not have knowledge or experience in fashion, or any connections in the visual arts industry.

  • You don’t always think in visual terms, and need a Creative Director to translate your unique ideas, message, and story into visual representations, and trends.

  • Not sure how to capture your unique story professionally. Storytelling attracts attention and encourages the audience to listen to what is being said, which ultimately leads to them buying.

  • You are keen to discover your authenticity, and not one to follow the herd.
