One of the perks of being a fashion stylist is getting invited to the fashion weeks, and New York Fashion Week is one of my favourites! It’s a privilege to attend the shows of top designers I’ve continued to support over the years. It’s also a great way to discover new designers for the benefit of my clients. For example, some NYC designers don’t feature that much in London stores. This makes discovering them and wearing a piece from their collection so exciting, as it’s a new look no one else has. By attending the shows, I also get a glimpse of trends before they become popular. I can pass this information on to those of my clients who don’t wish to merely follow trends, but be trendsetters themselves. Each client is different, and interpreting the trends to suit them individually is so exciting! One of my clients, Casey, booked a Personal Styling Shopping Trip in NYC as part of my International Shopping Holidays. I combined her NYC shopping itinerary with a trip to New York Fashion Week and Soho House events. We had a ball! So many photos and memorable moments… below a few highlights!
At the red carpet for Chromat show - Casey’s first NYFW! In good company with the NYFW designers first shows honoured on the wall behind us. Afterwards we celebrated at Soho House New York where Casey was immediately complimented on the outfit she put together from one of our styling sessions (such a rockstar!).
We loved Rebecca Minkoff’s presentation - so colourful and well put together. Meeting Rebecca after the show was one of our highlights!
Of course, it wouldn’t be New York Fashion Week without the occasional A-list celebrity and pop star sighting! The stars were out a Christian Siriano show - Oh hey Lucy Liu, Alicia Silverstone, and Megan Trainor.

Alice + Olivia’s presentation was so pretty and surreal! Casey couldn’t resist a styling session at the flagship. Great fun, and such an opportunity for Casey as an Alice + Olivia fan! Especially as they don’t have a flagship yet in London (although we were told coming soon).

At Saks Fifth Avenue fashion ‘Advanced’ section, where the high fashion looks are found at this iconic NYC department store. For every client I prepare a range of clothing along the fashion vs classic spectrum. I select colours, styles, fabrics and prints that suit each individual’s natural looks, so they can choose how ‘fashion’ they would like to go. It’s a fun way to experiment with the trends! Flashback to a year ago, to our first styling session in London! Casey has come a long way…
Today she is shutting it down at New York Fashion week! :) See you again next season Paris!
